Handling and Cooking

Storage

Keep refrigerated (1°C to 5°C). Once opened, keep refrigerated and use within 48 hours. Suitable for home freezing. Freeze as soon as possible after purchase and within the date shown. Use within 1 month. Defrost thoroughly in a refrigerator before use and use within 24 hours. Do not re-freeze once defrosted. Best before: See front of pack.

Oven cook

FROM CHILLED: Oven 180°C/Fan 160°C/Gas 4-5 preheat oven to 180°C/160°C (Fan)/Gas mark 4-5. Remove all packaging. Allow 30 minutes per 450g (1lb) plus 30 minutes. Place joint in roasting tin, cover with foil and roast for the calculated cooking time. Remove foil 20-30 minutes before the end of the cooking time and add your favourite glaze.

Cooking Instructions

GENERAL: All appliances vary, these are guidelines only.

Boil

FROM CHILLED: Allow 20 minutes per 450g (11b) plus 20 minutes. Place the joint in a large pan and cover with cold water. Bring to the boil and simmer for the calculated cooking time. Keep the pan topped up with water during cooking.
