Vryssaki Halloumi is made using the freshest blend of sheep’s and goat’s milk.

Grill it or fry it and indulge yourself with one of the most yummy halloumi you have ever tried.

Halloumi is a traditional, unripened Cypriot cheese made from sheep's, goat's and cow's milk , seasoned with salt and a little peppermint .

 

The name halloumi is used worldwide to describe grilled cheese. Due to its specific protein structure , this cheese can be grilled, roasted or deep-fried without melting and gets a nice golden brown color.

 

Traditionally made halloumi is semi-circular in shape. The gap created during folding can be clearly seen. For a cheese to melt when heated, it needs a pH of 5.9 or below. Halloumi , on the other hand, has a pH of more than 5.9.

 

If you prepare halloumi in the pan, place it in slices or cubes in a hot pan and let it fry for a few minutes on all sides. The cheese doesn't need long in the oven either.
