Vryssaki Halloumi wird aus der frischesten Mischung aus Schafs- und Ziegenmilch hergestellt.

Halloumi ist ein traditioneller, ungereifter zypriotischer Käse aus Schafs-, Ziegen- und Kuhmilch, gewürzt mit Salz und etwas Pfefferminze.
Der Name Halloumi wird weltweit zur Beschreibung von gegrilltem Käse verwendet. Aufgrund seiner spezifischen Proteinstruktur kann dieser Käse gegrillt, gebraten oder frittiert werden, ohne zu schmelzen und erhält eine schöne goldbraune Farbe.
Traditionell hergestellter Halloumi hat eine halbkreisförmige Form. Der beim Falten entstehende Spalt ist deutlich zu erkennen. Damit ein Käse beim Erhitzen schmilzt, benötigt er einen pH-Wert von 5,9 oder weniger. Halloumi hingegen hat einen pH-Wert von mehr als 5,9.
Wenn Sie Halloumi in der Pfanne zubereiten, legen Sie ihn in Scheiben oder Würfeln in eine heiße Pfanne und lassen Sie ihn einige Minuten lang von allen Seiten anbraten. Der Käse braucht auch nicht lange im Ofen.
