Honesty Sales Team app – Privacy

Honesty Sales Team ("HS Team") is a staff app made by Honesty Sales Ltd (company number 15075596, PA103 Technology Centre, Glaisher Drive, Wolverhampton WV10 9RU) for members of our customer service team. It lets staff receive alerts when a customer asks for help, reply to customer chats from honestysales.com and the Honesty Sales app, and see live shop activity. It is not for use by the public.

Signing in

There are no usernames or passwords. A phone is connected with a one-time 6-digit pairing code created by a manager in our Shopify admin. The phone then keeps a random access key in its secure storage; we store only a one-way hash of that key, so it cannot be read back.

Information the app stores about staff phones

  • The staff name entered by the manager when the phone was paired (this name is shown to customers when you reply).
  • The phone type (iPhone or Android) and a push notification token so we can send alerts.
  • Your alert choices, alert sounds and Online/Away status.
  • When the phone was last active.

We do not collect location, contacts, photos, advertising identifiers or analytics, and the app contains no advertising or tracking.

Customer information shown in the app

Staff can see the customer chats, basic order details and shopping activity needed to help customers. This information belongs to Honesty Sales Ltd and is handled under our main privacy policy. It is shown only to paired staff phones and is not stored on the phone after the app is closed, apart from normal temporary caching.

Service providers

  • Push notifications are delivered through Expo, Apple (APNs) and Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging).
  • When live translation is used, the text of chat messages is sent to our AI provider to translate it. It is used only to return the translation.
  • Our chat server is hosted by Render.

We do not sell or share this information with anyone else.

Keeping and deleting information

Signing out in the app, or a manager removing the phone in Shopify admin, deletes that phone's record (name, push token and preferences) straight away. Staff can ask us to delete their information at any time.
